Per an article in Macworld UK, the lack of this type of contract so far has been cited as one of the reasons that many more UK mobile phone users have not yet purchased an iPhone. Though the option seems to be welcome news for many users, the current priority seems to be dealing with subscription customers first. An official statement from retailer Carphone Warehouse announced that the iPhone 3G “pay as you go” contract will be in place sometime before Christmas.
