There has, over the past several months, been skepticism as to the arrival of the iPhone 3G in the UK. Despite the verification of price cuts, many customers are still concerned that they are going to actually be paying more for the new iPhone than they would have paid previously. Comparing the terms of the standard iPhone 8GB that costs £35 a month, many customers feel that they could indeed be looking at a much better deal with the new version. The bill for owning the new 3G iPhone will come to £729 over 18 months. When compared to the £899 that many spent for the first edition iPhone in the same time period, it is a significant price cut.
