Homemanageables, a creator and distributor of remote home control and automation solutions recently introduced an iPhone application that helps an iPhone user to remotely control and monitor their home from any place in the world. The iPhone application is a remote management tool that works together with Homemanageables do-it-yourself wireless home control and monitoring system. According to Homemanageables, this iPhone app has been specifically designed so as to take full advantage of the iPhone’s features and navigation. The app is free of charge and is now available for download at Apple’s app store.

Although the iPhone 3G is available in Russia, it can only be purchased on the black market where it has been very popular despite a cost of up to $1000 for the handset and $100 for unlocking it. However buyers will have to pay much less than black market rates when the iPhone 3G will be officially available later this year through Russian carrier’s MegaFon and Vimpelcom, who have reached an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone 3G. Further details’ including information on prices have yet to be released, but analysts are also expecting Mobile Telesystems, Russia’s largest mobile operator to be allowed to sell the iPhone 3G.

Bill4Time is a business application useful for tracking a company’s time, scheduling, billing and projects and is free with every Bill4Time subscription. Bill4Time Mobile permits a user to make time, schedule, note and expense entries for clients from an iPhone while being on the move without any need for syncing whilst also allowing overviews of various client related information. iSign is an app for the iPhone and iPod touch from iDev2, who have also developed an app called ABC Sign in the past. iSign helps people learn the ASL alphabet and has been described as an animated phrasebook of American sign language gestures. iSign has 134 gestures, which are modeled with fully animated 3d characters and are indexed for ease of use. The developer plans future updates, which will be free for all iSign buyers, such as more signs and a “quiz mode” to let people test their knowledge of sign language. iSign costs $3.99 at the app store.

A group of Russian modders have come out with a new mod that makes the Apple logo on the back side of the Apple iPhone glow. They claim that this mod does not put an excessive drain on the battery. The glow level can be adjusted from the settings menu. The mod is accomplished by replacing the apple logo at the back of the iPhone with a glowing version of the same. The mod costs 300$ to implement.


Artificial Life, provider of mobile participation TV, mobile 3G broadband technology, mobile games and business applications has recently announced that the company’s mobile development tool MobileBooster now supports the iPhone platform. MobileBooster is a development tool and platform to create and enhance mobile 2G or 3G games and applications. The tool also enhances business effectiveness. The company has developed a new extension module for MobileBooster that allows it to support embedded applications for the iPhone and iPod touch. MobileBooster provides clients a standardized development approach tailored for minimum errors and maximum efficiency. The company has its headquarters in Hong Kong and uses Mobilebooster to develop its own iPhone products.

Electronics retailer Best Buy has announced that it will sell Apple’s new iPhone 3G starting from September 7th at its 970 stores located in the USA. This makes Best Buy the first 3rd party retailer permitted to sell iPhones. At the moment, customers in the U.S.A who want to obtain an iPhone 3G must get it either from Apple’s retail stores or from those of service provider AT&T. This new deal between Apple and Best Buy will expand customer choices. Best Buy is going to offer the 8GB model of iPhone 3G at a price of 199$ and the 16GB version at 299$, along with a service contract with AT&T for 2 years.


Oracle Business Indicator’s, Oracle’s business intelligence software for the Apple iPhone has been reported by oracle to have been downloaded 23000 times in the one month period that the software has been available at Apple’s App Store. The majority of downloads were from the US (18,698), while the app was downloaded 1,082 times in Great Britain. Oracle was among the first companies to bring out real enterprise apps for the iPhone. Oracle Business Indicators was developed for iPhone users whose businesses use Oracle’s business intelligence (BI) software - Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). Oracle Business Indicators provides mobile business users with secure, real-time access to information on business performance and allows users of various Oracle BI applications to get information sent to their iPhones, such as alerts and updates based on predefined business metrics. The mobile app is available for free to Oracle BI customers.

Starsmasher is a new game for the iPhone developed by Florida based EspressoSoft. It is a space-based 3D shooting game, where you control a ship that handles various threats including enemy fighters, mines and asteroids. You control the game by tilting your iPhone in the direction you want to steer and tap the screen to fire.
The game is now available at the App store for a price of £1.79 or $2.99. The developer is also working on a 1.01 update to resolve some issues with the original release.


Enigmo, which is a puzzle game for the iPhone, recently won another award when it was among the eight winners at the Austin International Games Festival. Enigmo, which was also recently voted “The best iPhone game” at Apple’s 2008 worldwide developer conference (WWDC), has been referred to as “The ultimate 3D puzzle”. It is a 3d puzzle game where the player manipulates various objects such as slides to control streams of flowing liquid and divert the flow of falling droplets so they can reach their target. The game has 50 levels and has been recently updated to allow user created levels from the pc versions of the game. Enigmo costs £5.99/9.99$ at the app store.
